They had me doing installs in the southeast today. My first install was a large building towards the border of the city. I have been here once before. They already had phone so I got to install Internet and video. There was a young guy here. He said he was out of work currently, then boasted he had no shortage of cash. Then he said he was going to try to start a business with a friend selling credit card machines to small businesses. The install went pretty smooth, but when I got out to my van the guy yelled down to me from the balcony and said that they also wanted a box on a TV in the bedroom. He never mentioned that before, so I had to go back up there and hook that TV as well.
The next job wasn't too far away. There was a woman here with a large dog and a parakeet. The would bark at me every time I entered. The woman mentioned that she just got divorced and had to move out of the house. Her and her husband are selling it and splitting the proceeds. At one point the dog brought me a stuffed hedgehog. I grabbed it and played tug-o-war a bit and I had it totally beat. Then a couple minutes later it brought the hedgehog back but this time left me the end with all the slobber on it so I couldn't get a good grip and the dog won. That was one smart dog.
The last job of the day was yet another scrape off. The place was really close to the University. I was told by the movers that they were moving from just two blocks away. I guess they are renting this place while their other place is being renovated. I had to run a new line to the place. There were movers and audio-visual guys there so there was a small army constantly moving in an out of the place like ants working away. In fact the audio-visual guys did quite a bit of my work already for me.
Afterwords I went to a ford dealership close by to try and get a new driver side mirror. They didn't have it. But while I was there my supervisor contacted me and told me I was going to have a rider with me tomorrow. It's going to be the AA (I assume that means administrative assistant) of his bosses boss. He told me to make sure my van was clean. So I went and vacuumed and washed my van and then headed home.
